About Foundation

Dongak Foundation was established by Khentrul Sangay Tenzin Rinpoche with the approval of the Ministry of Home & Cultural Affairs, Royal Government of Bhutan as Non-Profit Organization. The foundation is also certified by the ‘Chodey Lhentshog’ vide a certificate no CRO/RC-24/2019/120 dated 11/12/2019 after the enactment of the Religious Organizations Act of Bhutan.

The name, Do Ngak Lotus Foundation can be elaborated to; ‘Do Ngak’ is synonymous to Sutra-Tantra (terminology of Buddhist literature), Lotus symbolizing poetic purity of blossoming Guru Rinpoches representation in English.

Additionally, ‘Do-Ngak’ was also derived from Khentrul Rinpoche’s predecessor Betrul Do-Ngak Tenpe Nyima (1898? –1959) who was prolific Nyingmapa master.
